AS 940 Sherpa 4WD
High-grass, ride-on mower with permanent all-wheel drive
The AS 940 Sherpa 4WD is a robust, versatile ride-on mower for difficult terrain and high growth. The machine’s 2-cylinder Briggs & Stratton engine with 724 ccm displacement, up to 27 hp and an oil and fuel pump achieve work rates reaching 5,500 m² per hour. Permanent all-wheel drive delivers better traction uphill and stronger, safer braking downhill. The limited slip differential can be activated at any time for more safety. Hydrostatic transmission is controlled exclusively via the drive lever, which controls forward and reverse movements as well as the brake and the parking brake. An additional brake pedal returns the drive lever to neutral and automatically engages the parking brake.
Equipped with the AS cross-blade system, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD delivers impressive mulching results in grass and dense growth up to 1.5 meters high. Bearing-supported blades cut the grass while a mulching blade positioned above them shreds the cuttings, which are then deposited between the wheels for added safety on slopes and wet grass. The mower deck’s surfing suspension yields upwards to obstacles, protecting the blades and turf from damage. Cutting heights can be adjusted to 5 levels from 50–105 cm and an option mulch kit is available for even finer mulching results.
Stability and comfort
With a highly stable tubular frame, the AS 940 Sherpa 4WD performs even under harsh conditions. Operators up to 1.9 m tall can operate the machine comfortably thanks to a length-adjustable seat and seat spring package. A low centre of gravity, folding bar and branch deflectors are added safety features, while lashing points integrated in the frame enable secure transport.
The AS 940 Sherpa 4WD is engineered for continuous operation with two separate ventilation circuits for the engine and hydrostatic transmission. The engine takes in air from above and discharges it to the side, while the hydrostatic transmission takes air from the rear and discharges it downward. This system prevents overheating and ensures the machine’s long service life.
Permanent all-wheel drive ensures better traction uphill and stronger, safer braking downhill.
Closed mower deck with AS cross-blade system. The main blade cuts, the cross-blade chops the cuttings. The surfing mower deck gives way upward on uneven terrain to protect against damage.
Length-adjustable driver seat, innovative seat suspension and ergonomic sitting position provide comfort for tall operators during long work periods.
High stability and torsional rigidity with heavy load.
Field stud tyres, switchable limited slip differential and an engine suitable for slopes ensure powerful traction on difficult terrain.
Easy adaptation of the speed to every terrain with integrated, mechanical parking brake in the drive lever.
Greater operator safety in the machine's limit area.

Gardening and landscaping
AS-Motor’s professional technology offers solutions for the diverse tasks of gardening and landscaping, from outdoor facilities to private gardens, public parks and residential lawns.
Meadow orchards characterize the landscape of diverse regions and provide valuable ecosystems for insect and bird life. Maintaining these areas often involves mowing around trees, on slopes and in rough terrain.
Caring for green areas in the civic environment involves a variety of tasks. From parks to roadside management, AS-Motor provides the correct tools to ensure both professional results and operator safety.
Viticulture, or wine-growing, is one of civilization's oldest forms of agriculture. AS-Motor was founded 60 years ago with the objective of tackling the slopes and thick growth of vineyards.
Athletic facilities and golf courses
Management of edge areas, embankments and lawns of athletic facilities are as important as the greens themselves.
Equestrian areas require various forms of green care. Whether maintaining paddocks or lawns, AS-Motor offers tools to create the ideal equestrian environment.
Hunting and forestry
In forests and on hunting grounds, mowing can take place as infrequently as once per year or even at intervals of several years. AS-Motor machines are engineered to tackle the thick growth native to these areas as well as Christmas tree plantations.
Leisure facilities must be visually appealing and expertly maintained. Whether parks or campsites, these areas are frequently used and thus require careful maintenance.
Maintaining roadways often involves mowing high grass and slopes, two specialties of AS-Motor’s professional technology.
Efficiency is crucial to maintaining a profitable solar park. AS-Motor offers the ideal tools to properly maintain the green areas around and under solar panels.
