AS-Motor expands its battery portfolio with three machines for the STIHL AP System

AS-Motor is expanding its battery portfolio. From the 2027 season, three selected machines will be available with a STIHL Powerhead: the weed brushes AS 30 E-WeedHex AP and AS 60 E-WeedHex AP, as well as the professional mulching lawn mower AS 510 E-ProClip A AP. Users can thus utilise existing STIHL AP batteries for additional tasks in professional green space maintenance.

STIHL batteries are already part of the daily workflow for many municipalities, service providers and landscaping businesses. They power equipment such as chainsaws, hedge trimmers, brushcutters and leaf blowers. Batteries and chargers are already in place, and workflows are established.

From the 2027 season, AS-Motor will complement this equipment range with three specialist machines for mechanical weed removal and professional mulch mowing. The new variants combine proven AS-Motor machine concepts with a STIHL Powerhead and are compatible with batteries from the existing STIHL AP System.

Use existing STIHL AP batteries for additional applications

Choosing a professional battery system shapes a fleet of equipment for many years. Therefore, the performance of a single device is not the only deciding factor. Batteries should be usable across as many applications as possible.

With the new AS-Motor models, users can now also utilise existing STIHL AP batteries for tasks that were previously not covered by the existing equipment range. These include the mechanical removal of weeds on paved surfaces and the regular mulch mowing of professionally maintained lawns.

A separate battery and charging system is not required. This protects existing investments, reduces the number of different batteries in operation and simplifies deployment planning.

The new Powerhead variant expands the existing AS-Motor Electric portfolio with an additional battery option. Users can thus choose the system that best fits their existing equipment fleet, operational conditions and business processes.

Additional opportunities for specialist dealers

AS-Motor and STIHL are already represented in the product ranges of numerous specialist dealers today. These dealers possess both the technical expertise and experience with the STIHL AP System.

The new models can therefore be specifically integrated into existing product ranges. Dealers gain access to additional applications without having to explain or offer their customers another battery system. For consulting, this creates a clear approach: existing batteries, additional professional machines and new application possibilities.

STIHL Powerhead for professional applications

The new Powerhead achieves a peak output of 2,950 watts. It is based on the new STIHL battery technology for professional applications. Tabless cells in the STIHL AllPro battery enable high power output across the charge state, even for tasks with high energy demands.

At the same time, compatibility with existing STIHL AP batteries is maintained. Users can therefore use both the new generation of batteries and existing AP batteries.

With a corresponding rapid charger, the new STIHL AllPro batteries reach up to 80 percent of their capacity within nine minutes. They are designed for more than 3,000 charging cycles and are protected against jet water to IPX5 standards. This makes the system suitable for regular outdoor use by municipalities, service providers and professional landscaping businesses.

The STIHL battery system already includes around 80 devices. The new AS-Motor models expand the range of applications to include machines for weed management and professional lawn care.

AS 30 E-WeedHex AP: Remove weeds where space is limited

The AS 30 E-WeedHex AP is designed for mechanical weed removal on footpaths, paved surfaces and in narrow edge areas. Its compact design makes it easier to work along walls, kerbs and borders, as well as on uneven surfaces or cobblestones.

The electric drive provides its torque at the push of a button. At the same time, the machine operates quietly, with low vibration and without local exhaust emissions. This is particularly relevant in residential complexes, near hospitals, care facilities, schools and daycare centres.

AS 60 E-WeedHex AP: Mechanical weed removal on larger surfaces

For larger paved surfaces, AS-Motor offers the AS 60 E-WeedHex AP. It is particularly aimed at municipal depots, local authorities, caretaking services and professional contractors.

The machine removes weeds mechanically and without herbicides. The results are immediately visible. Thanks to its balanced weight distribution, the weed brush can be controlled even in confined areas of public spaces.

The battery drive reduces noise and maintenance requirements. At the same time, the torque is available without a run-up phase, an advantage when working on varying surfaces and dense vegetation.

AS 510 E-ProClip A AP: Professional mulch mowing with battery drive

The AS 510 E-ProClip A AP combines the construction of the proven ProClip series with an electric drive for professional use.

With a cutting width of 51 centimetres, the mulching lawn mower is designed for the regular maintenance of lawns. The cuttings are finely shredded inside the mulching bell and returned to the turf. This eliminates the need to collect and dispose of clippings.

The steel mulching bell, the triple-bearing crankshaft and the driven rear-wheel drive are designed for daily use. In addition, there are the typical advantages of the electric drive: low noise and vibration levels, fewer maintenance points and no local exhaust emissions during operation.

Availability

The AS 30 E-WeedHex AP, AS 60 E-WeedHex AP and AS 510 E-ProClip A AP will be available from the 2027 season through authorised AS-Motor specialist dealers.
